001 | Withheld

withheld, the rain,
now torrents scatter ants, and sate thirst

where plants, in hopes of garden hose, had wept
now weeps the sky to see their need so fierce

not punctual, but present now
too soon departing, bellies full,
to seek out drier climes
and frustrated fields
